About

Anne-Sophie Hayek, Psychotherapist and Psychologist FSP, Ph.D.

Psychotherapist in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), doctor of psychology, humanist - some would say - I try to cultivate and share the art of adapting without forgetting oneself, in a conscious state to what is present.

My life journey as a psychotherapist has led me through various moments and experiences, moving from a functioning solely based on the strength and recognition of the mind, to the realization that a functioning based on the mind alone is not enough to find one's own balance; a balance that is moreover, in perpetual motion. Since then, I have been working and learning to build and listen to a kind of what I call (at least to this day): conscious intuition. This conscious intuition seems, to me, to come from or result from a balance between mind, emotions, physical sensations, spirituality/meaning of life, and openness to what presents itself on a life path. It is a gentle blend of letting go, attachment, recognition, kindness, and acceptance, in a presence to oneself, to what is right there and unfolding in the present moment, with as much as possible of authenticity. This is what you will find in the sessions and our meetings.

I don't see "sick" people, I don't stigmatize so-called "mental" or "emotional" difficulties or difficult experiences, and I don't pigeonhole individuals. I see people lacking direction, understanding, and support, who are experiencing profound upheaval and suffering. I don't trivialize this suffering. Therefore, I don't work with diagnoses. I draw on my training, acquired knowledge, clinical experiences, and feelings, which I share with and to your feelings, your experiences, and your reflections, so that together we can find a sort of middle way—yours—that allows you to make sense of things and move forward.

Thank you for the trust you place in me and in yourself every time you step through the door of my office.
